Catherine Murphy, a beloved mother,grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, passed
away peacefully on May 2, 2026, in Bogota, New Jersey. She was surrounded by love at
her time of passing.
Catherine was born on February 23, 1930. She was raised in the South Bronx. Cay's
warm presence and caring nature left an undeniable mark on all who knew her.
Catherine dedicated her life caring for her husband, children, grandchildren, nieces and
nephews and her friends. Her interests were as vibrant as her personality. She loved to
read books, often reading several books at a time. She was a remarkable handwriting
analyst and gave many new and interesting insights. Catherine's passing leaves a void in
the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
Her laughter, her love of life, and her ability to make everyone feel cherished will be
sorely missed but never forgotten.
Catherine is survived by her cherished son Thomas Murphy and his wife Paula.
Daughter Denise Bellino and her husband Joseph and her daughter Jennifer Murphy.
Her granddaughters Carys and her husband Giddion, Victoria, Rebecca , and Michelle.
Her grandson Michael and his wife Hailey. She is also survived by her two sisters-in-law
Ruth and Katherine Hunter and many loving nieces, nephews, and their families. Her
family will miss her deeply and cherish every moment they had together and will hold
close to their hearts all the wonderful memories.
She was preceded in death by her parents Orrin and Catherine Hunter and all of her 9
siblings. Orrin “Buddy” Hunter, John “Jackie” Hunter, William Hunter, James Hunter, Geraldine
Sheeran, Suzanne Elliott, Rosemary Hunter, Brian Hunter, and Kevin Hunter.
As we say goodbye to Catherine Ann Murphy, we celebrate the life of a woman who was
a pillar of strength and a beacon of kindness and love. Her legacy is one of unwavering
devotion to her family, a testament to the beautiful life she lived, and the countless lives
she touched. Catherine's memory will be treasured forever, as we hold her close in our
hearts and remember the light she brought into this world. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions
to your favorite charity of choice would be appreciated.
