Daniel J. Lauber, 66, of Bogota, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Lynne Lauber, née Richmond, with whom he shared over 37 years of marriage.
He was born in Hackensack, NJ on May 25, 1959 and was the cherished son of the late Albert Lauber and Joan Lauber, née Stout.
Dan was a longstanding member of the Bogota community––a graduate of Bogota High School, Dan was captain of the football team and crowned “Mr. Bogota”. He built relationships with countless people in Bogota and beyond through his appliance repair work, most recently through his own company, Active Appliance. He loved nothing more than enjoying time with friends and family, whether that be Sunday morning games of pickleball with his friends, playing the harmonica with his granddaughter Nora, or initiating a game of cornhole at a moment’s notice with anyone around.
Dan loved seeing other people happy, and was endlessly generous with his time. A man of service, he would return a call or text at any hour of the night if your refrigerator wasn’t working, and always took a genuine interest in whatever was going on in your life. His pride for his children was obvious to anyone who spent a moment chatting with him. In his spare time, Dan could regularly be found at Votee Park walking his dog Milo, sometimes in a baby stroller to make sure he didn’t overheat. His strength, kindness, humor and overall zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dan is survived and dearly missed by his loving wife, Lynne, and their three children, Daniel E. Lauber and his wife Elaina Mezzasalma, Chelsea Nolan and her husband Sean Nolan, and Tyler Lauber and his wife Magkotso Manamela; his granddaughter Nora Nolan; his brother, Jim Lauber and his wife Kim Lauber; his three sisters, Jennifer Stalknecht and her husband Peter Stalknecht, Susan Dinan and her husband Michael Dinan, and Mary Ellen Lauber and her partner Phil Goggins; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be conducted from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Petrik Funeral Home in Bogota, NJ. A memorial service with burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at St. Joseph Church in Bogota.
