Lillian “Lillie” Irene Cassarello (nee Scott), 74, of Teaneck, New Jersey passed away on September 30, 2026, at Hackensack University Medical Center. Born in New York to the late Lillian (nee Faye) and William Scott on December 13, 1951. Beloved wife of Louis J. Cassarello for over 55 years. Loving mother of Jodi and husband William, Charlene and husband Paul, Lillie and husband Luis, her son Louie and the late Dawn Marie. Cherished Grandmother of Jake, Luke, Sebastian, Leonardo, Lilly, William, and the late Mary. Dear sister-in-law of Charles (Diane), Joseph (late Kathleen), and John (Anne). Also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends whom she loved dearly.
After starting her family, Lillie moved to New Jersey in the late 1970s living in both Teaneck and Bogota. She worked in the Bogota Stationary store on Queen Anne Road, as a crossing guard, and as a lunch aide at St. Joseph’s School. Her most important career was being a devoted wife and mother. Those who knew Lillie will remember her smile, laugh, her beautiful blue eyes, and her amazing cooking. She loved having a good time and was usually the life of the party. To be loved by Lillie was a blessing even when it was tough love. To be protected by her was a treasure. To have had her in our lives was a gift beyond measure. Her memory will remain in our hearts forever.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am, Friday October 9, 2026, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Bogota, New Jersey. Following mass, Lillie will be laid to rest at Hackensack Cemetery Mausoleum.
