Mary Margaret Robertson Scott

Mary Margaret Robertson Scott, age 84 of Port St. Joe, Florida passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Ascension Sacred Heart Bay in Panama City, Florida. She was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on April 18, 1939. Mary spent a good portion of her life in New Jersey where she was very active in her community organizations. She played a big role with the Volunteer Fire Department and the school PTA in Ridgefield Park, NJ. Mary was known for her huge heart and bigger than life attitude. She had a passion for Broadway and worked as a Wardrobe Assistant for many years where she met and dressed many famous people. Mary enjoyed life and a good cheeseburger. Mary moved to Port St. Joe, Florida over 20 years ago and quickly became a loved member of the community.

She will be missed by all who knew her, but Mary left a great legacy and a lifetime of memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents Allen Robertson and Margaret Marie Robertson; one sister, Ann Moore and one brother, Allen Robertson.

Mary is survived by three children, William VanDerTulip and his wife Abby of Port St. Joe, Florida; Margaret Smyth and her partner Robert of New Jersey, James VanDerTulip and his wife Cathy of Florida; and one brother, Fred Robertson of New Jersey. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Hunter VanDerTulip, Fisher VanDerTulip, Ariell Fassett, Nicholas VanDerTulip, Jessica Connelly, and Tyler Smyth. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren; Austin, Brooke and Noah, and all of her nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Liz Robertson.

The family will receive their friends for Memorial visitation at Petrik Funeral Home, 140 Palisade Avenue, Bogota, Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 4-7pm.
