Edna Acito Obituary

Bogota, N.J. – Edna Mae Acito (nee Brady) passed away on April 4, 2020 at Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck.  Edna was born in New York City on April 2, 1931 to Joseph and Lillian Brady.  She was predeceased by three brothers James, Robert and Donald.  Edna was married for 49 years to her beloved husband Emil Acito, who passed away in 1998.  Edna was the proud and loving mother of Robert Acito, Martha Reilly, Janet (Michael) Zelinsky, Anne Marie (Zach) Allegretti, Emil Acito, Michael (Michele) Acito, Lisa Acito and Denise (Michael) Brophy.  She was also the adoring Grandmother, affectionately known as Nani to 14 wonderful grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Before retiring Edna was the Clerical Supervisor in the Emergency Department at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City for many years.  Edna and Emil moved from New York City to Bogota NJ where she resided since 1972. 

This Acito family would like to thank all of the wonderful Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Holy Name Hospital for the outstanding care they provided for Edna.  The staff at Holy Name was compassionate, professional and attentive to Edna’s needs and were true Angels to Edna and our family.

A private funeral service will be held for the immediate family followed by a Memorial Mass at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Villa Marie Claire c/o Holy Name Medical Center, 718 Teaneck Rd., Teaneck, N.J. (201-833-3105)
