Irene Oslau Maletsky, 98, of Oakland passed away in her home on May 20, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. A loving Mother to Valerie Maletsky and devoted Adoptive Mother to her God Child, Patricia Maletsky. She considered becoming a Grandmother to Michael Tjaden and Rebecca Tjaden, and a Great Grandmother to Willow Irene Tjaden her greatest titles in life. Irene enjoyed loving relationships with all her family, including her beloved nephew Robert Loeffler.
A strong-minded woman, at the age of 50, Irene graduated the School of Nursing, Bergen Pines Hospital, Paramus, NJ, where she used her gift of kindness and gentle manner to care for her geriatric patients. Irene will also be remembered for her years of service to the town of Oakland through her teaching young students the art of quilt making and her interactive colonial history program for the historical society of the Van Allen House.
Viewing at Bogart Memorial Church, 263 Larch Avenue, Bogota, NJ on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, from 12:00 — 12:30 PM, followed by a Funeral Service. Interment to follow at Hackensack Cemetery, Hackensack. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice, in her name.
