Judith A. Maffetone

June 21, 1944 ~ June 21, 2023 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Obituary

Judith Ann Maffetone passed away peacefully June 21st, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, and exactly 79 years to the day she entered this world. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, Nana, sister, aunt, and friend. Known for living life on her own terms, this year she decided to celebrate her birthday with the family members who predeceased  her; her parents, Elsie and William Grubb, as well as her brother Billy, and sisters Peggy and Mary.

Judy will forever be remembered for her funny and feisty nature. Despite her short stature, she was never afraid to speak her mind. She showed extreme kindness to all who crossed her path, expressing her love through her cooking–especially  her potato and macaroni salads, sausage and peppers (cut into bite size pieces), birthday soup, crab cakes, frying pizzas, and her “popeye”.

Whenever we hear an Elvis song, we will think of her. Whenever we eat a soft pretzel or a hotdog with no bun from Cubby’s, we will think of her. When we watch Walker Texas Ranger or play a game of Old Maid (where she definitely never cheated), we will think of her.

However, most of all, she will be remembered for how fiercely she loved her family.

She is survived by her husband Michael, her sister Sally Gaimo, and her 6 children: Michael (Dawn), John (Joan), Christina Pallatta (Craig), Rose Barros (Manuel), James, Linda Hart (Anthony). In addition she was a Nana to many beloved grandchildren: Dr. Alyssa Pallatta, Kristen Kunsman, Meghan Maffetone, Kevin Barros, Matthew Barros, Samantha Pallatta, Emma Maffetone, Steven Maffetone, Shelby Pallatta, Isabella Maffetone, Aaron Hart, Jacob Hart, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Sunday June 25th, 2023 at Petrik Funeral Home from 4-8. She will be interred at George Washington Memorial Park following a brief service at Petrik’s at 10am on June 26th, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, the American Diabetes Foundation, or any local charity that supports cat rescue and care as Judy had a known love for her many pets over the years.

Forget Me Never

Recorded by Elvis Presley in 1960

If I should go, forget me never

Please say that you’ll remember me

I pray the dreams we share together

Will shine on in your memory

Each time a star falls out of heaven

It leaves the sky a deeper blue

So if we part, forget me never

And don’t forget my love for you

And don’t forget my love for you
