Mariangela Rose Zampetti

Mariangela Rose “Mary” Zampetti of Ridgefield Park peacefully passed away on April 9, 2020, at the age of 101. Mary (nee DiGeronimo) was born in Jersey City on September 20, 1918, to Guiseppe and Maria (DeNicola) DiGeronimo. Mary was a long-time resident of North Bergen and then Ridgefield Park. A devout Catholic, she was a faithful parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Ridgefield Park and enjoyed socializing with her husband and friends at the DaVinci Society and vacationing at Bear Mountain. Mary was a smart, strong-willed woman who loved her family fiercely. 

Mary joins her parents and loving husband, Nicholas M. Zampetti, Sr., to whom she was married for over sixty years, as well as her adoring daughter, Camille Zampetti Silverstri, and brothers Joseph DiGeromino, Frank DiGermonimo, John Geronimo, and Phillip DiGeronimo. She is survived by her devoted son, Nicholas M. Zampetti, Jr. and his wife, Mariann Zampetti.  Loving grandmother of Cristina and her husband, Brian; Nicole and her husband, Chris; and Nicholas Michael Zampetti; and his fiancee, Jennifer Lowell, and great grandmother to Matthew, Emily, and Caitlin Sinclair; Christopher, Elizabeth, Thomas, and Olivia Barone; and Nicholas Zampetti, III. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Michael Silvestri, and her sister, Anne Chiara, and many nieces and nephews. 

Private funeral services for the family are being arranged by Petrik Funeral home, with a funeral Mass and celebration of life for extended family and friends to be scheduled in the future when the circumstances allow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 Mount Vernon Street, Ridgefield Park, NJ 07660 in Mary’s honor.
