Thomas Duncan Obituary

Tom was born to George and Vera Duncan, May 3, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio.  He graduated from Brush High School and then attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he was a member of DKE.  He married Vivian Hirsch in 1967 and they lived in NYC before moving to Teaneck, NJ in 1978.  He was a manufacturer’s sales rep and started his own successful company.  He was an active member of Central Unitarian Church in Paramus, NJ and served on many committees in his town, church, and fraternity to name a few.  His true passion was music and he played clarinet and sang for the last 20 years with his traditional jazz band, Dr. Dubious & The Agnostics. He took many trips with his family and always brought along his clarinet where he was able to find jam sessions to sit in on. He played his final gig to the delight of a full house at his Brightview Tenafly residence on November 20th. He also sang with the NJ Choral Society and the Chanteurs up until last year. Devoted husband of the late Vivian Duncan. Beloved father of Fiona Monllor and her husband Joshua and Eric Duncan. Loving grandfather of Jackson, Carter and Makayla. Dear brother of Marsha Len, her husband Tom and their children Christine and the late David.
