Walter H. Langseder

WALTER H. LANGSEDER, JR., 75, of Bogota, NJ, formerly of Teaneck, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019, surrounded by his family.  Walter was predeceased by his parents Walter and Ruth Langseder. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Jane (nee Hespos), his two loving sons Brian and Edward, his dear daughter-in-law Christyn, as well as his two cherished granddaughters, Ella and Avery; his sister Dale L. Fennelly (Kevin), his sister Elaine Roemer (James), his brother Eric Langseder (Annette); his sister-in-law Irene Oldenhage; his niece Kristina Fennelly and husband Mark Stinson; his nephews David Oldenhage, Matthew Fennelly, his grand-nephews William and Andrew; as well as many close relatives and friends. He was loved by all for his kindness and generous spirit and will be missed by many.

He was a graduate of Teaneck High School and subsequently earned a degree in Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University.  In August 1967 Walter entered active duty in the United States Army initially being stationed at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD, where he was a calibration specialist within the Ordnance Division.  He was later deployed to the Pirmasens Army Depot in Germany.  During his three years of service he earned the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Expert M-14 Award. He was honorably discharged in August 1970.

Over the course of his career, he was employed by Mosler Safe, Lightolier, recently retired from Express Scripts as a systems manager. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bogota.  

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, November 24, 2019, from 1 to 4 pm at Petrik Funeral Home, 140 Palisade Avenue, Bogota, NJ.  At 4 pm there will be a prayer service at Petrik’s together with US Army Military Honors.  Cremation will be private.
